Who We Are

“GURUKUL” was founded in 1912 by Swami Nityanandji and Late Dr. Kalyandas Desai with an aim to revive the ancient Hindu Educational System of Gurukul ashram. The impetus was drawn from the teachings and activities of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, founder of Arya Samaj.

Today, Gurukul Educational Institutions run by Mumbai Pradesh Arya Vidya Sabha is a leading educational institution, imparting education to the needy and deserving students, in Ghatkopar and surrounding central suburbs in Mumbai, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, without charging any capitation fees or donation. It has its own infrastructure and an independent educational complex, with 17 Institutions run under umbrella of Mumbai Pradesh Arya Vidya Sabha, of which about 12 offer education in English medium, 3 in Gujarati medium while 1 offers subjects and courses, in both Gujarati & English medium and 1 is a Special School. Education is being imparted right from nursery upto Graduation in Commerce field also providing technical and vocational courses and a niche for Special Children. Thus huge set of knowledge has 17 Institutions under its canopy, educating more than 8000 students and staff of around 300.
